If you want to include guests to your Elopement wedding beyond your two witnesses, you may add up additional guests for $10/guest. Also consider our Classic Wedding package, which allows for an unlimited number of guests. Guests invited virtually don’t count.

The ceremony includes a simple statement of intent, vow exchange (and ring exchange if desired), the in-person signing of the Marriage Licence, and an official declaration. Both spouses will have a brief moment to share personal vows. From start to finish, the ceremony does not take more than 10 minutes!

Approximately 1-2 weeks before the wedding, our officiant will email you with a detailed summary of how the ceremony will proceed, including a suggested script, and to schedule a brief phone call or virtual chat so that you can get to know them better. You can further add-on a virtual wedding rehearsal (conducted just prior to the wedding) for $25 or an in-person wedding rehearsal for $100, both of which are a thorough walkthrough of your ceremony from start to finish.

WHAT YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT THE PROCESS:

Please ensure that you obtain a valid Marriage Licence (from any municipality in Ontario) no earlier than 90 days prior to the proposed wedding date. If you do not present the original, valid Marriage Licence to your officiant at the ceremony, you CANNOT be legally married. For more information, see the Marriage Licence page.

You must provide two witnesses of sound mind who can sign your Marriage Certificate at your wedding ceremony (aka they must know what they’re signing). Consult with your officiant if you need help with procuring witnesses.

By law, ceremonies MUST be done in-person and be attended by the married couple, the officiant, and two witnesses of sound mind. We cannot officiate a legal marriage by online means (not even during a pandemic).

There’s nothing you need to do after your ceremony—just enjoy being newlyweds! Your officiant will submit all required paperwork within 48 hours to the Ontario government to register your marriage. The government typically takes 10-16 weeks to process a registration. You may order at your own cost a Marriage Certificate, but it is entirely optional; you don’t need to get one to “complete” your legal marriage—signing the Marriage Licence itself is what makes your marriage “complete” under the law. Just like the Marriage Licence, the officiant cannot legally order a Marriage Certificate for you.

FINEPRINT:

Pricing is dependent on location. The City of Toronto includes Toronto proper, Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke. The GTA includes the Regions of Durham, Halton, Peel, and York. Outside of the GTA is anywhere in the province, subject to availability of officiants.

To secure your preferred date and time, you must purchase a wedding package through our website (or contact us directly). Payment is non-refundable, but if anything happens and you have to reschedule your ceremony, you may do so once for free of charge if you notify your officiant at least one month prior to your original wedding date.
